All participants in l'Étape du Tour Vélo Magazine, whether via their license or their registration in the competition, benefit from Individual Accident insurance set up by the Fédération Française de Cyclisme. This provides cover for physical injuries occurring during “their active participation” in the competition.

All competitors may nevertheless increase their insurance cover (amount of compensation and extent of cover) by taking out an additional and similar type of insurance policy (valid during the three days of the competition).
