ROADS CLOSED ON MONDAY 10TH JULY

Special Traffic Regulations:
More than 8 500 enthusiastic amateurs will be at the start of this superb timed cycling race and will be riding along main and secondary roads, warranting special traffic regulations. You will therefore find here below details concerning traffic regulations for the day.

Roads closed on the Etape du Tour Vélo Magazine: Monday 10th July 2006

HAUTES ALPES (05)
   The RN 94 in Gap in the direction of Briançon closed from 6.30 to 9.30 am
   The RN 94 in Guillestre in the direction of Gap closed from 7.30 to 9.30 am
   The RD 902a from Guillestre to the top of the Izoard closed from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm
   The RD 902a from Briançon to the top of the Izoard closed from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm
   The RN 91 from Briançon in the direction of Grenoble closed from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm
   The RN 91 from Briançon to the Lautaret pass closed from 9.30 am to 3.00 pm

ISERE (38)
   The RN 91 from Bourg d'Oisans in the direction of Briançon closed from 9.30 am to 4.00 p.m
   The RD 211 ascent and descent of the Alpe d'Huez closed from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm



ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS

Participants must go to the "Host Village" in Gap (Stade de la Luye) to:
 Collect their bib number and transponder in person.
 Collect their bag of gifts.

It is also advisable to go there to:
 Collect the final detailed maps of the start and finish areas.
 Listen to, and read, the latest race and safety instructions.
 Participate in the activities and the Giant Tombola.

Food and drinks will be provided.
Participants will be given quickly absorbed sugars, dried fruit, fresh fruit (oranges and bananes), cheese, ham etc…

ASSISTANCE   

Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th July
A Mavic mechanics workshop will be set up in the "Host Village" in Gap during bib number collection times. Labour will be free of charge.

Monday 10th July
Technical assistance will be provided from the start to the finish by vehicles and motorcycles spread over the race.Vehicles with spare whells will only repair cycles when equipment has been broken. Competitors must repair punctures themselves and therefore set off with two spare race tyres or inner tubes.
