Starting line operations in Modane

As shown on the map below, the twelve starting areas will be spread across the following spots:

• Starting line on the roundabout between Route de Bardonecchia (Valfréjus access) and Rue Jules Ferry.
• Rue Jules Ferry
• Rue Léon Gambetta
• Rue de L'Isle

These starting areas will be accessed from the D1006 (the main road crossing the village).

The lugggage room (bags with dry clothes for the finish) and breakfast area will be set up on the Casino store car park, next to the D1006.

The main access route (D1006) is also the race course. This means you must reach the starting area before 7 am if you are coming from Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne.

How the start will be given

The first difficulty of the route comes quite early: after 15 km, a left turn in Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne and the immediate start of the climb up the Col du Télégraphe.

We are going to spread out the start flow (with 1 h between the first and the last starters) to prevent congestion and ensure the utmost comfort and safety. This will enable us to spread out the stream of cyclists.

The width of the starting line will be reduced to 3 m and a few minutes' gap will be left between each group of participants.
Real-time timing will ensure you get your actual race times.

We prefer to have you wait in the starting areas and make your race comfortable.
