Mechanical assistance

SHIMANO PROVIDES YOUR SUPPORT

As in previous year's editions, Shimano will be on hand to assist you throughout your Étape du Tour de France. The brand will be at your side in the village, at certain refreshment points and with mobile vehicles to offer you neutral assistance and enable you to reach the finish in the best possible conditions.

Fixed mechanical assistance points will be set up all along the route.

Nevertheless, we recommend that you always carry a puncture-proof kit and two inner tubes with you. Don't hesitate to take advantage of the savoir-faire of the brand's experts in case you have a problem! Shimano mechanical assistance technicians will be on hand from Friday onwards at Étape du Tour de France village.

Shimano explains to you:

"SHIMANO is by your side before and during the 2024 Étape du Tour de France with technical assistance in the village and on Sunday, 09 July.

Before the start, our mechanics will check your brakes and bleed them, if necessary. They will also check tyre pressures, adjust the transmission if necessary for optimum fluidity, check parts subject to wear such as brake pads, discs and chain, and tighten screws if any play is detected or if you need to retighten a stem/seat post following the transport of your bike. Shimano will be available to help you set up your Di2 transmission or provide a component upgrade if required, and don't forget to recharge your Di2 battery beforehand!

We highly recommend that you have a thorough bike check before each race at a bike shop. The Shimano team will not provide annual maintenance for your bike.

During the race, Shimano technicians will be on hand to help you with punctures, chain drops, transmission problems, lubrication or any transmission work. However, they will not be able to help you with broken spokes or any other parts other than a transmission component (seat post, stem, handlebars, frame cracks).

Shimano would like to wish all participants in the 2024 Étape du Tour de France a great edition!

After the event, don't hesitate to visit one of our 140 Shimano Service Centres in France for service by the technicians who know your bike best. Find your shop on https://www.shimanoservicecenter.com/fr/revendeurs/ "
