BE READY FOR THE BIG DAY
L'Étape du Tour de France is going to be an unforgettable experience, so make sure to leave nothing to chance.
As your big day in the mountains approaches, take the time to prepare, check the weather forecast and come dressed ready for rain or shine with versatile clothes that adapt to your needs.
Some will complete this race in 6 hours, others will need more than 10 hours to cross the finish line. On thing is sure, you will have to train, get the right equipment, eat and drink to reach the end of the Etape du Tour de France.
What is the secret to reach your objective? Preparation!
With this guide created by the French Cycling Federation, we offer a 14-week training programme divided in 3 periods:
- The first month focuses on velocity,
- The second on strength,
- The third on power.
Each week has 3 sessions: a session to work on fundamentals, a long-intensity session and a session dedicated to climbing.
So, no more excuses to begin training and be ready on July 21.
The big challenge of the season is just around the corner. Time to start thinking about what you eat! We have joined forces with Isostar to put together a nutrition guide that will help you gear up for the big day and the days after the race. We encourage you to read it to tackle the race in the best possible conditions.
Over the next few days, the guide will deal with:
- Specific products for physical effort and athletic management;
- What to eat during your build-up; and
- Isostar's nutrition regimen for the big day and the time you take to recover.
Good luck for the final preparations and see you on the finish line!
